Steps in applying to The School in Rose ValleyStep 1: Visit The School in Rose ValleyPlan a visit to The School in Rose Valley to learn about our program and philosophy. Please contact Kim Schmucki, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, at kim@theschoolinrosevalley.org or 610.566.1088 to arrange a private tour. Or, check our Open House Schedule to attend an Open House or Information Session to learn more about SRV. Step 2: Submit an Application for EnrollmentFill in and send one Application for Admission per child along with the application fee of $50.00 per family to: The School in Rose Valley, 20 School Lane, Rose Valley, PA 19063 Step 3: Teacher RecommendationsFor applicants to Preschool through 1st Grade: Please give one Confidential Recommendation Form to your child’s current teacher and have him/her fill in the recommendation form and return it to The School in Rose Valley. For applicants to 2nd through 6th Grades: Please give a Confidential Recommendation Form to two current teachers and have those teachers fill in the recommendation forms and return them to The School in Rose Valley. The above step does not apply if your child has not yet attended school or been in a childcare setting outside of the home. Step 4: School RecordsFor children currently attending another school or program, please download the Request for Records form. Please sign the form authorizing the release of student records and give it to that school or program. They will send the records directly to us. Step 5: Prospective Student VisitsAfter we receive your application and the recommendation form and school records, we will contact you to arrange for your child to visit SRV. Students applying to Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st Grade spend the morning in a classroom with a group of their peers and one or two teachers doing typical classroom activities. Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants will be assessed on age appropriate academic skills. Parents remain on campus during the visit and have the opportunity to talk with SRV’s Head of School, board members, current and other prospective parents. Admissions Visiting Days will be held on:
Classroom Visits (2nd through 6th Grade applicants): Applicants for 2nd through 6th Grades must visit in a classroom with children in their current grade for two consecutive days. These visits will be arranged by appointment starting in November, 2012. Step 6: Notification of AcceptanceYou will be contacted regarding the outcome of your child’s application by February 6, 2012 or within one week of your child’s Classroom Visit. It may be necessary to arrange a second visit or gather additional information about your child before a final decision is made. Step 7: Enrollment and RegistrationAn Enrollment Contract and Registration materials are sent with the letter of acceptance. Signed Enrollment Contracts are due in the SRV office on Monday, March 5, 2012, or, for those families applying later in the Spring, three weeks after the family receives their letter of acceptance. Financial AidIn order to maximize the chance of your child receiving Financial Aid, please complete the steps outlined in Applying for Financial Aid according to the timeline. Enrollment applications are considered independently of Financial Aid applications. Admissions decisions are made regardless of the applicant’s need for Financial Aid. |
